Microsort IVF (invitro fertilization) with PGD
(pre-genetic diagnosis) is considered to be the most effective and accurate
gender selection method available.
The treatment process and medication is the
same as Microsort with IVF where the sperm is sorted into X and Y, however once
the embryos are formed and have developped to the 8 cell stage, there is a
biopsy perfomed for both genetic testing and gender (sex) selection.
Combining the PGD with Microsort increases the
success of the desired gender from 75-90% up to 99.9% and allows for genetic
testing to take place to ensure that the healthiest embryos are transfered.
PGD is a procedure that is generally
recommended for older women who’s eggs have a higher risk of abnormalities.
